Reed Sweet-grass is sweet by name but robust by nature. It towers above other grasses and forms large patches around bodies of water usually in shallow water and on marshy ground.
The flowers of the Reed Sweet-grass are large and loose, pinkish in spring and more purple by summer. Its narrow leaves are long and dark green.
While Reed Sweet-grass can become invasive, nevertheless it provides good shelter for all sorts of wetland creatures.
Up to 2.5 metres in height. Reed sweet-grass is a tall grass with large, loose flower heads. Its leaves are long and bright green.
